Meet Payal Kumari, Bihar Migrant Worker's Daughter Who Topped Her University Exam In Kerala
Payal Kumari did her parents proud by topping the final year exams at Mahatma Gandhi University, Kerala. Her father is a migrant worker from Gosaimadhi village in Bihar's Sheikhpura district, as per a report in NDTV.?
Pramod Kumar Singh moved to Kerala from his home state along with his family and works a labourer in a hardware shop in Ernakulam. They currently live in Kangarapaddy.?
Payal showed early signs of being good in studies. She scored 83% in her Class 10 finals and then got 95% in her school finals. She was a Humanities student.?
She was studying in Mar Thoma College for Women, Perumbavoor, where she joined in 2017. Now in the finals, she has secured the first position.?
Despite many hardships, Payal was able to overcome all obstacles and do well in her academics. At one time, she had to stop studying due to financial issues, but her college then provided aid and she was able to get back on track.?
She was is also a volunteer of the National Service Scheme and actively took part in the college's flood relief campaigns in 2018.?
“I might pursue a postgraduation or may even attempt to crack the Civil Services examination," she told The New Indian Express.?
"When we left Bihar, I was 4. To ensure that we never had any trouble in completing our education, my father juggled several jobs. Even now, he tells me that I need to only focus on my studies,” she added.?
Her story is one of inspiration and one hopes she goes on to achieve great things in life. Her journey has only begun, she has a long way to go, but she is on the right track for the moment.
