Chandigarh Double Tragedy - Woman Dies Of Shock Just Hours After Father Succumbs To COVID-19
In a tragedy, a 24-year-old woman died of shock hours after her father who was a police officer, died due to COVID-19 in Chandigarh, as per a TNN report. ASI Jaspal Singh died aged 49.
The daughter suffered from renal issues and diabetes.?
According to a Hindustan Times report, the woman Navpreet Kaur asked about her father on Monday and passed away thereafter.?
The cop's son Sharandeep Singh cremated his father on Monday and then laid to rest his elder sister the next day.?
According to Jaspal's 22-year-old son, he hid the death of his father from Navpreet as she was already ill and weak. "As we returned after cremating our father, Navpreet realised something was wrong. She asked about her father's well being and started crying. We were speechless and asked her to take rest but to no avail. Her last words were 'Daddy ji'," the report quoted Sharandeep as saying.?
The deceased cop was posted at Ludhiana Police Lines and was suffering from tuberculosis and diabetes.?
ASI Jaspal Singh's kidneys were also not functioning properly. The police officer was on medical leave before he joined the duty on July 24. Later on July 26, Jaspal tested COVID-19 positive.?
He died at Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh, during treatment on Sunday evening. He was admitted to the hospital on August 7.?
Jaspal Singh had joined Punjab police in 1992 as a constable and rendered his services for over 28 years.
